Felisters Gitau — Leading Farmer’s Choice into a New Era

Felisters Gitau Mutugu is the dynamic Chief Executive Officer of Farmer’s Choice Limited, one of East Africa’s most recognisable food brands renowned for meat and value-added protein products. She stepped into the CEO role in late 2024, taking over from a long-serving leader and steering the company toward broader growth and sustainability.

Prior to her appointment, Gitau rose through the ranks of the company, holding senior commercial and strategic leadership roles — including Director of Sales & Marketing and Deputy Managing Director. Her tenure has emphasised innovation across the supply chain, stronger collaboration with smallholder farmers, and expanded production capacity.

Under her leadership, Farmer’s Choice launched the Cookout Series, a nationwide community engagement initiative celebrating Kenya’s food culture while reinforcing the brand’s roots in local agriculture and rural livelihoods. She emphasises that nutrition, sustainability and community empowerment are critical to the company’s legacy.
